Mosesa postpones SWT-01 well drilling to Q2 2014

PT Mosesa Petroleum, a subsidiary of PT Energi Mega Persada (EMP) has postponed the drilling plan for the SWT-01 well in the Tonga block, Padang Lawas regency, North Sumatra, to the second quarter of next year, said an official of upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas.

Arief Fanzuri, Survey and Drilling Division at SKK Migas, told Petromindo on Thursday that the delay decision was taken due to unavailability of rig.

"Now the rig procurement process is still running," he said.

The Tonga PSC covers a 2,607-square-kilometer area between Dumai and Sibolga in Sumatra. It has proven and probable oil reserves of 3.54 million barrels, and prospective oil resources of up to 61 million barrels.

Energi Mega?s ownership, through Mosesa, in the Tonga block is 94.28 percent.
