MoT proposes guarantee for C. Kalimantan coal railway

The Ministry of Transportation (MoT) has proposed to the Ministry of Finance for the government to provide guarantee for the planned Central Kalimantan coal railway project, Kontan reported on Monday.

?It (the proposal) will soon be discussed,? said Hanggoro Budi Wirjawan.

He said that the guarantee will be in the form of so-called viability gap fund, which is expected to help accelerate the construction of the coal railway project, which will link coal mines in remote areas in Central Kalimantan with the coal port.

Bastary Pandji Indra, a director at the National Development and Planning Agency (Bappenas) said that China Railway Group Ltd has won tender for the project. (*)
