MPI: Winner of SBA on Energy Management & Low Carbon Business

PT Medco Power Indonesia (MPI), a company owned by PT Medco Energi International Tbk and Saratoga Capital, has been elected winner of the Sustainable Business Award in the category of Energy Management & Low Carbon Business in Association with ALBI, by the Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD), the company said in a News Release dated May 9th,2012.

MPI as independent power producer owns 5 power-plant assets, two are in Batam and three other are in South Sumatera. MPI also provides Power Plant Operation and Management (O&M) services, as well as services in Project Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).

MPI with 5 other leading national companies, namely Garuda Indonesia, Bank Negara Indonesia, Bakrie Telecom, Holcim and Asia Pacific Resources International, had established the association: Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development and invited other companies to be committed in promoting sustainable business development.

IBCSD held a Sustainable Business Award (SBA) program for Indonesia companies, of both member and non member, aimed at increasing awareness in running sustainable business which is environment-friendly, today and in the future.

As an evidence of MPI's commitment to run busines in an environment-friendly way and promote use of renewable energy, currently MPI is developing Mini Hydro power plants in Cianjur, Sukabumi and Sulawesi, with total generated power reaching 95 MW supported by 17 water springs.

Medco Power Indonesia is a company engaged in power industries, striving in provision of green, clean and renewable power generation, focusing on small to medium IPP (Independent Power Plant) and power plant services such as project management, operation & maintenance, and procurement services. MPI owns and also operates 300 MW IPP in Batam, 30 MW in South Sumatera and 1320 MW Operation and Maintenance of Tanjung Jati B Power Plant in Jepara, Indonesia.
