MPP plans to produce 3m tons of coal

Coal mining company PT Mega Prima Persada (MPP), a local unit of LG Group, plans to produce three million tons of coal this year, relatively the same with realized output last year of 3,040,000 tons, from its mine in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan Province.

As of May, the company has produced around one million tons, Chris Kim, Managing Director of Batubara Global Energy (BGE) told Petromindo.com on Thursday. BGE is a coal trading company owned by LG International Group.

LG Group has another coal mining company in East Kalimantan called PT GAM Coal Mine, which started commercial production in January 2017. GAM is expected to produce 3.3 million tons this year.
