MROnly.Com, Oracle provide B2B mining solutions

MROnly.Com has teamed up with Oracle to provide business-to-business (B2B) and e-commerce solutions on global online mining and metal business activities.

MROnly.com chief executive officer Scott Armstrong said that its venture with Oracle was to support a recently launched global alliance of 14 mining and metal companies.

"We understand the operation of these industries, and therefore, we provide solutions that would optimize profits from their operations," he said in a press statement.

MROnly.com is an association of companies to develop and provide products and services for capital-intensive industries such as mining, utility and transportation.

Member companies of MROnly.com include Auslang (supply catalog services), MANTECH (supply chain management/ SCM solution), Mincom Indoservices (enterprise system installment), and Mitrais (software development).

Products from MROnly.com that give e-business solutions for mining operation include e-MarketPlace, Enterprise Systems, Virtual Catalogue (VCAT), ADVENT Optimizer, and Procurement Decision Support.

Amstrong said that Mitrais was currently develop e-MarketPlace for the world's largest tin miner PT Tambang Timah. The application will allow tin trading through the Internet.

With the application Mitrais is developing, Timah will be able to improve efficiency by 50 percent in the area of marketing. It will also benefit Timah in penetrating new markets.

Meanwhile, Mincom Indoservices provides enterprise system solution for Timah.

Amstrong claimed that around 90 percent of mining companies in Indonesia had become the clients of MROnly.com group of companies. They include Newmont, Freeport, Inco, Rio Tinto, PT Aneka Tambang and Timah. (*)
