MSH Group to participate in phase II 10,000 MW power plant projects

PT Mitra Selaras Hutama (MSH) plans to participate in the development of the government?s second phase 10,000 MW power plant projects, Investor Daily reported on Tuesday.

Planning to team up with China?s Harbin Power Engineering, MSH through unit PT Mitra Selaras Hutama Energi is looking to bid for the development 600 MW power plant project worth around Rp 4 trillion, according to MSH President Director Erick Hidayat. He said that the energy feed stock for the planned power plant project will be coal.

In the first phase 10,000 MW power plant development, MSH and Harbin won the tender to develop a 660 MW coal-fired power plant project in Paiton, Probolinggo, East Java. Erick said that the Paiton project will be handed over to state electricity firm PLN within the next two to three months.

Meanwhile, during a meeting with Minister of Industry MS Hidayat, MSH and Harbin were told to maintain the quality of the machinery to be used in the project amid some disappointment with the use of Chinese technology during the first phase 10,000 MW power development projects. (*)
