MSJ ships 290kt during February 1-20

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Mahakam Sumber Jaya (MSJ), a coal unit of IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Harum Energy has shipped 290kt of coal during Feb.1 - 20, 2013 period, to its foreign customers, an industrial source told Petromindo.Com on Monday.

Of the total, MSJ has shipped 150kt by capesize vessel to its South Korean customer and other customers by two panamaxes, which were heading to Malaysia and China, respectively, the source said.

MSJ is expecting to maintain around 40 percent of its total production to be shipped to South Korean power utilities, same with last year?s portion. MSJ has two existing long-term buyers, namely Korea Western Power Co., Ltd and Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd.

MSJ is targeting to produce around 10-11 million tons of coal for this year. Last year, it produced 9.5 million tons.
