MSJ to up 2009 coal production

East Kalimantan coal miner PT.Mahakam Sumber Jaya (MSJ) plans to significantly increase production to 5 million tonnes in 2009, a senior official at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said.

Mining Enterprise Director Bambang Gatot Ariono told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that the company, based on its production planning plan submitted to the Ministry, will increase production from 3.5 million tonnes last year.

MSJ is a subsidiary of coal mining group Tanito Group.

MSJ has a crusher and load-out facility on the Mahakam River. The mine is is located approximately one and a half hours drive from Samarinda on the northern side of the river.(godang)
