Malaysia?s conglomerate MTD Group plans to develop coal mining infrastructure in Bengkulu and East Kalimantan to smoothen the distribution of coal of Malaysian miners having concessions in those areas.

Chief Operating Officer CIBT Norlent Pasaribu did not disclose the plan in details, but did say that the infrastructure would make it easier to transport coal to coal terminal managed by the Group, Cigading International Bulk Terminal (CIBT).

?The miners have troubles transporting their coal from mining site to jetty facility. That?s why they requested us to build the necessary infrastructure,? Norlent said, while refusing to name the miners.

In the CIBT, the coal will undergo a blending process before eventually be shipped to the customers, he said.
