The plan for bidding the construction of the 220 km-long Muara Bekasi – Cirebon transmission pipeline has been delayed again because the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has yet to issue the required letter of consideration, Bisnis reported Monday.

Director for Gas of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body’s (BPH Migas) Indrayana Chaidir said in Jakarta last week that he sent a revised document for the implementation of the bidding to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources two weeks ago but the ministry had yet to respond it, which prompted BPH Migas to delay the implementation of the bidding.

BPH Migas’ member Trijono said that the bidding for the construction of the Muara Bekasi – Cirebon pipeline project would not be commenced until the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources issued the letter of consideration.

“So, we have to wait for it (the letter),” he said. He got an assurance that letter would be issued next Monday.

Earlier, BPH Migas planned to open a tender for the construction of 220 Muara Bekasi – Cirebon transmission pipeline in earlier September. The project was expected to be completed in 2010.

Meanwhile, director general of oil and gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Luluk Sumiarso said that he had yet to read the revised document proposed by the BPH Migas. (*)
