Muara Bekasi-Cirebon pipelines project to be opened soon

A plan to tender the construction of the 220-km-long-Muara Bekasi?Cirebon transmission pipelines will finally be realized following the issuance of a required consideration letter from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, Bisnis Indonesia reported Saturday.

The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body, BPH Migas committee member Trijono said in Jakarta Friday that the letter reached the body last week and so the committee would hold a meeting next Tuesday to set the schedule for the tender. ?We will announce it (the tender schedule) on that day,? he said.

Director General for Oil and Gas Luluk Sumiarso confirmed the approval, saying that it has been issued on behalf of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, the directorate has issued an approval letter related to the planned construction of the Muara Bekasi-Cirebon project.

According to Trijono, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), PT Bakrie & Brothers, PT Rekayasa Industri and PT Pertamina are interested in joining the tender.

Under the original plant, the tender project is scheduled to be opened in August of this year. However, the tender has been delayed due to the absence of a consideration letter from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas. (*)
