State electricity firm PLN announced on Wednesday that two of six units of Muara Tawar?s 6x143 MW had commenced operations and had entered Java-Bali electricity system.

The power plant, which is located in Bekasi regency near Jakarta, is expected to commence full operations by the end of July this year, PLN director Ali Herman Ibrahim told reporters.

He added that gas supply for the combined cycle power plant would be coming from ConocoPhillips Indonesia?s gas field in South Sumatra starting 2006. Until the commencement of South Sumatra gas supply, Muara Tawar will use HSD as fuel.
