Multi Harapan coal output up in Q1

East Kalimantan-based coal miner PT Multi Harapan Utama said on Monday it had produced some 330,000 tons of coal in the first quarter of 2003, higher compared to last year?s corresponding period of 249,565 tons.
?The weather was good,? company manager Obang Sobandi told Petromindo.Com.
Obang said that Multi planned to boost production from 1.1 million tons last year to around 1.5 million tons this year.
Multi earlier said it had secured a new contract to supply coal to Taipower Corporation of Taiwan.
Multi Harapan is owned by local business groups Napan Group, Swabara Group, and PT Asminco Bara Utama. Its coalmine is located 30 km west of Samarinda in East Kalimantan. (godang)
