Coal miner PT Multi Sinar Kencana (MSK) has started coal production since two months ago from its coal mine at Central Bengkulu regency, Bengkulu province, the company?s top official told Petromindo.Com.

The calorific value of mine's coal is 6,300-6,500 kcal/kg (GAR) with low moisture, low ash and low sulphur, the official said. ?We expect to start first shipment this month with initial shipment volume of 20,000-30,000 tonnes,? the official said.

The mine, which has an area of about 2,000 hectares is located in Ratu Agung sub-district, around 78 kilometers from port terminal in Pulau Baai, the official said.

The mining activity is conducted by the company itself. The company is continuing to conduct exploration activity in its mine to update the coal reserve estimate.

At present, the company is negotiating coal supply deals with a number of Thailand buyers and some coal traders from Indonesia, the official added.
