Murphy geared up for seismic survey in Wokam II

As US energy firm Murphy Oil Ltd is about to start exploration activities in Wokam II block, upstream authority BPMIGAS has asked for the support of the three provinces the block covers ? Papua, West Papua and Maluku ? to smooth out operations.
Murphy plans to carry out 3D seismic acquisition on the block in the fourth quarter with the objective of providing 600 square kilometers with option to increase to 1500 square kilometers of high quality 3D seismic data acquisition services.
?We need the support of the three provinces so that the explorations could be carried out without any problem,? said BPMIGAS Representative for Papua and Maluku Yoseph R. Karundeng during a meeting with Maluku Governor Karel Albert Ralahalu in Ambon recently. Also present in the meeting Murphy Wokam Oil Ltd Government and External Affairs Manager Anang Purwanto.
Karel promised that his administration would make it easy for Murphy to carry out its operation. ?We will ease the process of securing the required recommendations and licenses,? Karel said.
