Murphy Oil to drill two wells at Semai II block

US oil, gas firm Murphy Oil is scheduled to drill two wells in Semai II block, West Papua, including Serai-1 and Bawang Putih wells respectively in February and March of this year, according to a senior official at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas.
SKK Migas Head of Drilling and Survey Division, Arief Fanzuri told Petromindo.com on Monday that preparations for the drilling program are underway, as the company waits for the arrival of the COSLD rig.
Murphy is the operator of the Semai II block, in which the company shares equal interest of 28.3 percent with Japan?s Inpex and Thailand?s PTTEP. The remaining 15 percent balance is held by state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina.
