Murphy to relinquish 2 blocks in W. Papua

American firm Murphy Oil Corp. is in the process of relinquishing its two exploration blocks, namely Semai IV and Wokam II both located offshore West Papua, according to an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.
?Murphy has submitted request to relinquish the Semai IV PSC and Wokam II PSC. Currently the request is being reviewed by SKK Migas,? Spokesperson of SKK Migas, Zudaldi Rafdi told Petromindo.com.
SKK Migas said earlier this week that Murphy has completed 2D seismic survey on 503 km in Semai IV PSC at the end of last year. The Semai IV PSC covers an area of approximately 3,533 sq km offshore in West Papua province.
The block was awarded in November 2011. Murphy Semai IV Ltd., a subsidiary Murphy Oil Corporation, is the block operator with 100 percent interest.
Murphy completed a 3D seismic survey work in Wokam II block in 2013.
The block was awarded in December 2010. Murphy Wokam Oil Company Ltd., a subsidiary Murphy Oil Corporation, is the block operator with 100 percent interest.
