US firm Murphy oil plans to drill two exploration wells in Semai II PSC offshore West Papua in the second quarter of 2013, says the company?s presentation released last May.

The company, however, has yet to secure drilling rig for the exploration campaign.

The company has earlier drilled the Lengkuas-1 well in the block, but failed to make discovery.

Murphy is the operator of Semai II where the company shares equal interest of 28.3 percent with Japan?s Inpex and Thailand?s PTTEP. The remaining 15 percent balance is held by Pertamina. The partnership has 3-well commitment in the block.
