A 120 MW-capacity marine vessel power plant (MVPP) leased by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN is expected to arrive in March of this year at the Tuhelu Port in Maluku Tengah Regency, Maluku Province,

Business Director of PLN for Maluku-Papua regions, Haryanto WS told Petromindo.com on Saturday that the MVPP will be installed in the following month and hooked up with a 70 kV transmission line to start supplying electricity in the power-crisis region.

?This is a short-term solution pending completion of a number of power plants,? he said, adding that PLN will only utilize 60 MW capacity of the MVPP, leased from Turkey-based floating power plant maker Karpowership.

In December of last year, a 60 MW MVPP, also leased by PLN from Karpowership, arrived in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province.
