Nalco Water is seeking to grab new contract from state-owned electricity firm PT PLN to supply water treatment technology for the 2x100 MW PLTU Teluk Balikpapan coal-fired power plant.

Nalco Water Indonesia District Manager, Hamdani Bantasyam told Petromindo.com on Thursday the company has participated in a recent tender held by PLN, and is currently waiting for the result.

Nalco has been engaged in the provision of the water treatment technology and related services for 130 power plants in Indonesia including coal-fired, gas-fired and geothermal, he said.

He added that about 65 percent of the sales came from independent power producers, while the balance from PLN.

Hamdani said that Ecolab, the parent of Nalco Water, currently has two production facilities located in Citeurep and Cikarang, West Java Province, respectively with installed capacity of 20,000 tons per year, and 10,000 tons per year.
