National power plants consume 31.1 million tons of coal in H1

State owned electricity PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said on Tuesday the national power plants, including those owned by its subsidiary PT Indonesia Power and independent power producers (IPP), consumed a total of 31.1 million tons of coal in the first six months of the year.
PLN got its coal from PT Kideco Jaya Agun, Adaro Energy and PT Bukit Asam.
?The biggest supplier during the period was Kideco with a total supply of 6.44 million tons, followed by Adaro and Bukit Asam which supplied a total of 5.15 million tons and 4.42 million tons respectively in the period,? PLN?s Coal Division Head Helmi Najamiuddin told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on the sidelines of the seminar titled ?2nd Unlocking Sumatra Coal Petential Conference? on Tuesday.
PLN targets the national power plants to consume a total of 66.3 million tons of coal this year. Last year, the consumption stood at 49.71 million tons,
