New geothermal field in North Sumatra offered to investors

The Mandiailing Natal regency in North Sumatra has called bids to develop the geothermal resources in Bumi Sorik Marapi?Roburan?Sampuraga field.
The field measures 62,900 ha and is estimated to have gothermal potential resources of 200 MW, a statement posted on the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources? website said.
The prequalification documents can be obtained from De. 22, 2009 through Jan. 5, 2010 at the regency?s office of public works, mining and energy in the regency?s capital of Penyabungan (Phone: (0636) 326256, Fax: (0636) 326169) or the ministry?s Directorate General of Mineral, Coal and Geothermal in Jakarta. Interested companies are required to deposit Rp 200 million in tender guarantee funds at Bank Sumut?s Penyabungan branch office. (Kanti)
