New geothermal power generation unit to start operation in June

The new PLTU Asam-Asam geothermal power generation unit which would supply electricity power to the South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan area is on track to start operation in June.

"We're now in a trial operation which is expected to be completed in the middle of May. God Willing, the project can start operation in June," head of the project Patemin Eko Dwinanto was quoted by the Banjarmasin Post daily as saying.

Patemin dismissed earlier rumors that the implementation of the project might be delayed because of explosion in one of its conveyor.

He said that there was no explosion at all. (*)
