State Audit Agency (BPK) has found new indications of corruption in state-controlled oil and gas company PT Pertamina, and several other government agencies including the ministry of health, Investor Daily reported on Saturday.

BPK's chairman Anwar Nasution said in Jakarta on Friday that the signs of corruption in the state owned oil and gas company were found during the agency's recent audit. "We will re-audit the company," he said following a meeting in the Presidential Palace. But he refused to elaborate.

Oil and gas analyst Kurtubi gave a positive response on BPK's plan to re-audit Pertamina and to find out indications of corruption in the company. "We hope BPK will be more consistent in its audit on Pertamina," he said.

Kurtubi said that a number of alleged corruption practices had been found in Pertamina but they mostly disappeared after some time due to lack of concrete actions taken to investigate those involved in the practices. (*)
