New nickel association officially launched

A new nickel grouping called the Indonesia Nickel Miners Association (or APNI) was officially launched on Monday along with its organizing committee.
Ladjiman Damanik was named as its first chairman for the period of 2017-2022. Other members of the committee include Sudirman Tjakradinata (Deputy Chairman I), Wiratno (Deputy Chairman II), Antonius Setyadi (Treasurer), Dadang Praptomo (Deputy Treasurer I) Ense Da Cunha Solapung (Deputy Treasurer II), Meidy Katrin Lengkey (Secretary General), and Maman Khairussalam (Deputy Secretary I).
Director for Mineral Development and Management at the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bambang Susigit led the ceremony to officiate the new organization and its leadership.
Ladjiman said that APNI was set up following a January 6 meeting of around 100 nickel mining firms at the directorate.
According to information obtained by this portal, so far 30 nickel mining firms have become members of APNI.
