New petrochemical investment may reach $7b until 2017

New investments in the country?s petrochemical sector may reach US$7 billion over the next three years as investors are lured to build new production facilities to capitalize on the huge domestic market potential, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday.
?Investment (in petrochemical) may increase by a total of $7 billion until 2017,? said Amir Sambodo, Chairman of INAPLAS, an industry association.
He said that among of the investors planning to make new investments include PT Chandra Asri, PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemial Indotama, PT Pertamina, and South Korea?s Lotte Chemical (Honam). (*)
