PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) expects that the operation of the KE #40 platform would increase oil production at the West Madura Offshore (WMO) block in East Java by 1,600 bopd and gas output by 15 mmscfd.
Salis said last week that the installation of the platform and pipes on site would take until the end of September to be completed, so that drilling work could start in early October.
Aside from operating the KE#40 platform, PHE WMO is also making preparations to operate three additional new platforms, which are currently still being constructed by PT Bakrie Construction.
The three new platforms, respectively called PHE KE-38B, PHE KE-39, and PHE KE-54, are expected to further increase oil production at WMO by about 9,000 bopd.
