Canadian mineral explorer Mindoro Resources Ltd. Said Friday that its co-venturer Newcrest International Pty Limited had completed six diamond drill holes for a total of 1,152 meters on the Harimau Prospect, the largest and strongest of four prospects on theTiris gold project in South Sumatra.

Mindoro said the drilling targeted a gold in soil anomaly extending approximately four km of strike, and up to two km wide. The soil anomaly occurred within a very large and strong stream sediment gold anomaly, extending over more than five by two km, and associated with low-sulphidation hydrothermal alteration.

Associated mineralized epithermal vein and hydrothermal breccia float grades up to 10.6 g/t gold and 520 g/t silver.

Mindoro said that upon receiving complete assay results from Newcrest, an analysis on whether the Harimau Prospect had been adequately tested and explained would be carried out.

Additional targets on the Tiris Project may also be considered for drilling, said Mindoro.

Newcrest is the operator of Tiris gold project and has the right to earn 75 percent interest in the project. (alex)
