Newmont gets safety and environment awards

Gold mining company PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NNT) has received golden certificate from the ministry of energy and mineral resources for its outstanding efforts to promote working safety within the company's mining activities, Investor Daily reported on Saturday.
In addition, the company also received Upakarti Aditama award from the ministry for the recognition of its strong commitment to protect the environment in the company's mining site.
According to the company's senior manager for external relations, Malik Salim, the golden certificate, the highest appreciation award for working safety, is the fifth award received by NNT. "It indicates that NNT is among the safest mining company in the country," he said. (*)
