Newmont names Martiono president of Indonesian subsidiary

American mining giant Newmont Corp has named Martiono Hadianto president of its Indonesian holding company PT Newmont Pacific Nusantara to replace Noke Kiroyan.

           

Martiono paid a courtesy call on Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro  on Thursday, during which he also informed the minister about his appointment as the new leader of the company.

           

Martiono was the former president and chief commissioner of state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina.

           

Aside from Newmont Pacific Nusantara, Newmont has two other subsidiaries PT Newmont Minahasa Raya, which has closed its gold mine in North Sulawesi, and PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara, which operates a giant copper and gold mine in Batu Hijau, Sumbawa Island, West Nusa Tenggara. (Godang)
