Newmont Nusa Tenggara selects suppliers

PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NTT), a subsidiary of the Colorado-based Newmont Corporation, has named three local companies to join the tender to provide catering, cleaning services and accommodation facilities for the gold mine operator's 4,000 workers.
The three companies: PT Alatief Jasakarya, PT Pangansari Utama Catering and PT Prasmanindo Boga Utama, have passed the pre-qualification process, which was joined by 18 companies, Lombok Pos daily reported on Thursday.
NTT president Tom Enos said that the winner should have a strong financial background, sufficient number of skilled staff and a strong commitment to use raw materials from local sources.
He acknowledged that he had received a number of recommendations from certain people to win certain bidders but such "pressure" would not deter the company from choosing only the best company to win the tender. (*)
