Newmont pays Rp371b in Q2 royalty to government

Copper and gold miner PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (PTNNT) has paid a total of Rp 371.1 billion (1US$= Rp 9,920) in the second quarter of this year to the government in the form of taxes, non-taxes, and royalties.

The largest tax payment component for this quarter is the corporate income tax (PPh 25) of Rp 250.3 billion, NNT?s senior manager for external relationship Arif Perdanakusumah said on Monday.

Since its first concentrate shipment in 1999, the firm has paid a total of Rp 12.085 trillion in tax and royalties to the government.

The firm's presence brings other economic benefits to the country through salary payment to the 8,000 employees of its contractors; goods and services procurements from local and national suppliers, and community development programs. (*)
