A non-government organization (NGO) called Civilian Community Coalition (also known as KMS) plans to file lawsuit with the Supreme Court in a bid to annul the new Ministe of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No 5/2017.

The regulation is an implementing ruling of the new Government Regulation No 1/2017, which among others allows miners to continue export of mineral concentrates for another five years despite stipulation in the 2009 Mining Law prohibiting the export unprocessed and half-processed minerals.

?The Ministerial Regulation No 5/2017 is in breach of the Constitution. So, we?ll file lawsuit with the Supreme Court, hopefully next week,? said Ahmad Redi of KMS on Friday. (*)
