The Indonesia Nickel Association (ANI) said that currently most of its members have stopped producing nickel ores as the government plans to ban the export mineral ores starting January 12, 2014.
ANI's Chairman Shelby Ihsan told Petromindo.com that many of its members have laid off their workers especially the daily workers, which are dominated by local people.
Shelby added that in 2013, ANI's members produced about 45 million metric tons of nickel ores.
