The government has received a request from Canadian firm Niko Resources to open data room as it seeks to farm out ownership in assets in Indonesia.
?Niko has requested for opening of data room for W. Papua IV, Cendrawasih and North Ganal blocks,? Yunan Muzafar, a senior official at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, told Petromindo.com Tuesday.
An official at the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas said earlier that Niko had no intention to pull out from Indonesia, but plans to farm out its ownership in Indonesian assets as part of a risk-sharing strategy. The company announced end of August it has decided to temporarily suspend drilling program in Indonesia.
