Niko Resources complete drilling at Elit-1 well

Canadian firm Niko Resources has completed the drilling off Elit-1 well at Kofiau block in West Papua and upstream authority SKK Migas is evaluating the drilling results, SKK Migas said on Tuesday.

The firm completed the drilling on Aug. 25, according the agency.

?Elit-1 is the final well that has been drilled. Data from the drilling indicate the existence of gas peaks amounting to 600 units. Our plan now is to carry out modular formation test (MDT) at the layer,? SKK Migas Exploration Division Head Nugraheni told Petromindo.com.

Separately, SKK Migas Survey and Drilling Division Head Arief Fanshuri confirmed that the drilling was completed on Aug. 25.

?The drilling of the well was completed on Aug. 25. The result is being evaluated because there isn?t any well test,? he said.
