Nippon Steel Engineering wins gas development platform order from Total

Nippon Steel Engineering Co. said Thursday that it has received an order from an Indonesian unit of France's Total SA to construct and install a platform and pipeline for a natural gas development project in Indonesia, Jiji Press`reported.
The subsidiary of the French energy company, Total E & P Indonesie, placed the order, estimated to be worth slightly less than 10 billion yen, for the Peciko Phase 5 project, located in East Kalimantan, in which the French parent holds a 50 pct stake.
Nippon Steel Engineering, affiliated with leading Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel Corp. , will undertake engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore installation of a 3,400-ton offshore platform and a 4.7 kilometer pipeline.(*)
