NNT pays $5.18 million royalty to government

Mining firm PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NNT) has paid US$5.187 million royalty to the government for the period of fourth quarter of 2005.

NNT paid US$3.365 million for copper, $1.783 million for gold, and US$39,703 for silver in royalty. It has been paying royalties to the government since 1999 when its first shipping was done. So far the total royalty amount has reached $111.80 million.

NNT?s media relations department said in a press release that the company has deposited the royalty amount into the account of the Finance Ministry?s at the Bank Indonesia. The royalty is being paid in accordance with the terms of work contract between NNT and the government. (*)
