Thursday, March 29 2007 - 05:00 AM WIB

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina would not supplement the selling volume of biofuel labeled by Biosolar and Biopremium because the products gain no subsidy from the government, Kompas reported.

The company?s Head of Fuel Division Djaelani Sutomo said on Wednesday that Biopremium and Biosolar would not be developed anymore but the existing sales in public fuel filling stations (SPBU) would not be subtracted.

Pertamina started to market automotive diesel oil mixed by biodiesel and gasoline mixed by ethanol in May 2006 as part of campaign for the use of alternative energy.

Pertamina will instead to eye non-subsidized market. The company would develop Biopertamax early April and the marketing point of the product would be expanded to ten SPBU in Jakarta. (*)
