?No audits had found wrongdoings in bioremediation project?

SKK Migas stressed that the contract between PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) and the government on the bioremediation project was a long-term, 30-years contract regulated under the civil law, and so far no audit by the State Audit Agency (BPK) or State Finance Comptroller (BPKP) had found any wrongdoings or misuses of state funds.

The remark was made by Deputy Chairman of SKK Migas Johanes Widjonarko during his testimony as a witness in a court trial Monday that put Ricksy Prematuri, Director of PT Green Planet Indonesia (GPI), the contractor hired by Chevron in the bioremediation project, as a suspect in the case by Attorney General's Office (AGO).

Ricksy, along with four Chevron workers, have been declared suspects by AGO which alleges that the project was fictitious and caused losses to state funds. Chevron has denied the allegation.

Johanes? remarks are in line with what Chevron has been saying, that the settlement of the case should refer to the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) which is regulated by civil law, not the criminal law.

Johanes added that BPMIGAS was not involved in the contract between Chevron and GPI.
