South Kalimantan coal miner PT Tanjung Alam Jaya (TAJ), a coal unit of state tin miner PT Timah Tbk., said that its coal output for this year has been booked by international traders, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com.

The official said that most of its 2011 coal output will be taken by international trader Noble and some by other traders including Glencore, the official said without giving the exact figures of the contracts with the traders.

This year, TAJ is targeting to produce 600,000 tonnes of coal, significantly lower than last year?s output of 1 million tones. For next year, TAJ sees further lower output compared to this year?s production target.

TAJ has not yet decided on the allocation of its next year?s coal output, as it would only start to talk about it at the end of this September, the official said.

TAJ operates a 6,000-hectare coal mine in Banjar regency, producing coal with calorific value of 6,500 kcal/kg (ADB). (denny)
