Noble, Glencore in trial shipment deal with Medco

PT Medco Energi Mining Internasional is in trial shipments of sale deal of coal from its coal mine unit PT. Duta Tambang Rekayasa (DTR) in Simengaris, Nunukan regency, East Kalimantan with global traders Noble Group and Glencore.
The source told Petromindo.Com that the trial shipments will be started in February until July. Each buyer will receive one barge with capacity of around 8,000 tonnes of high CV coal per month.
At present, the mine is in preparation to enter initial coal production, which it is expecting to start in February until July this year. ?After July, the mine will be able to produce 40,000-50,000 tonnes per month of high CV coal,? the source added.
According to the source, there is still opportunity to buy coal from the mine, after the trial shipments completed.
The calorific value of the coal is around 6,300 kcal/kg net as received (NAR) but with high sulphur and ash content of 3% and 9%, respectively.
