Noke appointed new president of KPC

Rio Tinto on Thursday appointed Noke Kiroyan president director of its subsidiary PT Kaltim Prima Coal.
Kiroyan, previously president director of PT Kaltim Prima Coal, will resume his new position on December 1, taking over from Grant Thome who will serve as managing director of Brisbane-based Pacific Coal.
But Kiroyan will retain his post as chairman of Rio Tinto Indonesia.
Kiroyan has worked at Rio Tinto over the past four years after assuming several positions at banks in Indonesia, Germany, Australia and the United States. He graduated from Bandung?s Pajajaran University and New York?s Syracuse University.
KPC, which operates a giant coal mine in Sangatta, East Kalimantan, is equally owned by Anglo-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto and Anglo-American energy giant BP Plc. (*)
