Non-tax revenue to reach Rp5.7 t from mining in 2007

A meeting by the working committee for basic macro economy of the House of Representatives in Jakarta Thursday disclosed that of the assumption for the non-tax state revenue target for 2007, Rp59.246 would be generated from annual contribution, Rp3.5 trillion from royalty and Rp2.175 trillion from the sale of mining outputs.
The assumption for the non-tax revenue from mining sector will be submitted to the budgetary committee to be used as a reference for seting the 2007 state budget plan.
The meeting also disclosed that royalties from mining companies with coal contract of work (PKP2B)were expected to reach Rp 1.9 trillion, while those with contract of work (CoW) and mining contract were expected to reach Rp 1.07 trillion and Rp 479.08 billion respectively.
Freeport Indonesia is expected to pay royalty of about Rp 663.81 billion, Newmont Nusa Tenggara (Rp 169.19 billion), Inco (Rp 154.34 billion), PT Koba Tin (Rp 50.22 billion), Nusa Halmahera Mining (Rp 17.52 billion), PT Karimun Granite (Rp 14.4 billion), PT Galuh Cempaka (Rp 3.34 billion), PT Avocet Bolaang Mongondow (Rp 2.15 billion), and PT Indomuro Kencana (Rp 1.32 billion).
The royalty from Kaltim Prima Coal is expected to reach US$56.84 million, Indominco Mandiri (US$28 million), PT Arutmin Indonesia ($25.2 million), PT Adaro Indonesia ($16.9 million), PT Kideco Jaya Agung ($16.62 million), PT Berau Coal ($9 million), PT Gunung Bayan Pratama ($8.4 million), PT Antang Gunung Meratus ($4.8 million), PT Bahari Cakrawala Sebuku ($4.8 million) PT Jorong Barutama Greston ($2.7 million), PT Tanjung Alam Jaya ($1.7 million) and PT Trubaindo Coal Mining ($8.96 million).
Meanwhile, the government has formed a special team to speed up the realization of 11 mining projects, which have been suspended on problems related to the site, tax and environment.
The projects are reportedly located in protected forest areas.
The establishment of the special team is based on the decision of Coordinating Minister of Economy issued on August 31, 2006.
Deputy for the Mineral Resources of the Coordinating Minister for Economy Wimpy S. Tjejep said that the formation of the team was designed to create a climate condusive to investment in mining and oil and gas sector.
The 11 mining projects include those to be developed by Maruwai (coal), Martabe (gold), Inco (dam), Weda Bay (nickel), Rio Tinto (nickel), Tayan (alumina), Gag (nickel), Meratus (gold), Cibaliung (gold), Dairi Prima Mineral (zinc) and Sulawesi Utara (gold).(godang)
