North Barito offers mining potentials

The North Barito regency administration will offer a number of mining potentials to investors during the Autonomy Expo 2001, in Jakarta from Oct. 20 through Oct. 28.
The head of the administration's mining, industry and trade office, Kaspinor, his administration would present examples of minerals from the area, including gold, coal, quartz, and granite.
"We will invite mining investors to invest in our areas," he said.
Currently, Kaspinor said only gold out of the many mineral potentials in the regency had been exploited by PT Indo Muro Kencana. Meanwhile, other mineral potentials had not exploited.
Nevertheless, currently a total of 18 companies have been granted coal mining license, and they are doing exploration in the regency. (*)
