North Belut starts production

ConocoPhilips has started gas and oil production at North Belut field in South Natuna Sea.
The firm held a gathering on Tuesday to mark the maiden production in Jakarta, attended by Minister of Maritime and Fisheries Fadel Muhammad and head of oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS R Priyono, BPMIGAS said in a statement.
Priyono said North Belut started production on Nov. 16, 2009 and now produces 265 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of gas and 20,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil.
The field still has potentials to increase its output. The gas output will peak at 315 mmcfd and oil output at 30,000 bpd.
The gas will be pipelined to Malaysia under the sales and purchase agreement signed in March 2001. (Godang)
