The interest holders of Kepala Burug PSC, also known as Basin PSC, in West Papua plan to replace the operator of the North Klalin field of the block, an industrial source said.
At present, the operatorship is now held by PetroChina International (Bermuda) Ltd. It will be replaced by Petrogas (Basin) Ltd.
?Discussion is still in progress on the issue. The change in the operatorship is expected to be carried out in early 2016,? the source said but stopped short of explaining the reason behind the change in the operatorship.
The block is owned PetroChina International (Bermuda) Ltd (30 percent), Pertogas (Basin) Ltd (34.064 percent), RH Petrogas Salawati Basin BV (25.936 percent), and PT. Pertamina Hulu Energy (10 percent).

In October 2011, PetroChina International reported that it had discovered a new gas and condensate reserves in North Klalin. Thetest result of North Klalin-1 exploration well showed that the well produced 5.867 MMSCFD on a 24/64? choke, with 137 BCPD (Barrel Condensate Per Day) of condensate. The well was drilled in June 2011 and completed in September 2011, the company said.
