Norway to develop hydropower plant in Sulawesi

The country?s interest to enter the green energy project in Indonesia was expressed by Norwegian Environment and International Development Erik Solheil during a meeting with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa in Jakarta on Tuesday.
?They are quite famous in hydropower technology. The larger part of their electricity supply is provided by hydropower plants. So I warmly welcome the offer from the country,? Hatta said following a meeting with the Norwegian minister.
He also said that during the meeting the Norwegian minister also offered to develop a green energy with a special financing scheme especially designed to low-income people. The Norwegian minister has also invited Hatta to visit Norway to further discuss the green projects.
Meanwhile, Rizal Affandi, deputy to the coordinating minister, said that the development of hydropower plants in Indonesia would adopt the Norwegian hydropower technology. ?At present, the government is building a pilot project in Makassar,? he added. (*)
