Norway?s state company Stat Kraft is making preparations to build a 350-megawatt hydroelectric generating plant in Jambi, which the company postponed last year in the wake of the Bali bombing, Antara news agency reported Monday.
Jambi governor Zulkifli Nurdin was quoted as saying over the weekend that Kraft officials had visited the power project site in Kerinci regency, and that a portion of the loan for the project would be disbursed soon.
Last year, the Norwegian company delayed its plan of building the power plant due to security reasons. The firm had agreed to invest in the US$1 billion project. (*)
