Novus, Lapindo commence Wunut development drilling campaign
Thursday, December 18 2003 - 11:22 PM WIB
The Wunut-7 well spudded at 18:00 local time on Sunday 14 December. As of 17:00 18 December the well had cemented 13 3/8? casing at 627 ft.
The well is a development well for the currently producing Wunut field and is the first of four firm wells to be drilled as part of a campaign in the block. Following completion of drilling activity at Wunut-7, the Brantas joint venture expects to drill the Wunut-11, Wunut-12 and Tanggulangin-3 wells. All wells are targeting relatively shallow reservoir sands between 2,900-3,100 feet.
Each well is expected to take between 20 to 25 days to drill.
The aim of the drilling campaign is to further develop the Wunut field and to appraise the southern extent of the Tanggulangin discovery. Under the terms of a Gas Sales Agreement signed earlier in the year, the Brantas joint venture can supply up to 80 million cubic feet per day of gas. Wunut has recently been producing at record rates of over 60 million cubic feet per day of gas.
Each Novus and Lapindo Brantas has 50 percent working interest in Brantas PSC. (alex)
